The Custom Process
Step 1: We Chat
Whether it’s a custom engagement ring, a token to celebrate a special occasion, revamping a family heirloom, or a way to treat yourself, the custom process always starts with a conversation between us. In this first conversation - usually over email - we like to get an idea of your vision before we get more in-depth.
Step 2: We Learn
Since the beginning of Diamondoodles, our founder Hannah has been giving the “So You’re Going To Propose,” presentation to her custom jewelry clients, which includes an overview of the 4Cs of Diamonds, insight into Colored Gemstones, and key design features of Engagement Rings. This presentation helps create a shared vocabulary between the designer and client. This meeting is also when we go over the details of your wants and needs for the project.
Step 3: Stone Sourcing
Most designs we create begin with the stones! As a GIA Graduate Gemologist with years experience sourcing in the USA and overseas, Hannah knows the importance or sourcing beautiful and ethical gemstones for clients. She curates a unique collection of gemstones for each client to select from.
Step 4: Design
Once the diamonds and gemstones are chosen for a project, the design process begins. Hannah hand draws multiple designs for each project making sure to include special details to further personalize each piece of jewelry.
Step 5: Manufacturing
Once a design is approved it is sent on to our manufacturing team. From the expertly built CAD models to the precision craftsmanship of our jeweler, each piece of jewelry is lovingly made to last lifetimes.
Step 6: Delivery
After each piece of jewelry is made, it is thoroughly checked for quality before being packaged and shipped off to its new home.
